Vintage, Black Owned Businesses, Art and Fashion

I love vintage clothing. I am on the app Depop every other day, if not every single day. I am impressed by all of the shops and people sourcing products to resale. Plus, I love how safe it is for the environment, and there are always super unique finds. I had a friend ask me about some vintage places the other day, so let me put a little list together. There are also some other places I like to shop for jewelry or clothing or art. Here are some of my favorite places (in listicle form).

Vintage

  • Vintage apps: Depop, Mercari, Etsy, Poshmark (most people resale things from their closet, but some shops actually source items or make items and sell them)

  • Nello Vintage - I have the cutest longline blazer dress/jacket. It's cream. You've probably seen me in it in one of my images. I mostly use it as a blazer. (Black owned - Depop/https://www.nellovintage.com)

  • Imthepopp - Her custom two toned jeans are everything. (Black owned - https://www.depop.com/imthepopp/)

  • Merkarivintageclothes - Cutest reworked items from sweats to hoodies. I've never actually bought anything, but I'm eyeing things. I hope to get some sweats eventually. (https://www.depop.com/merakivintageclothes/)

  • Livinghippiethrift - Bought this jean jacket with velvet cuffs and neck. Love it to death. (Black owned - https://www.instagram.com/livinghippiethrift/)

  • Details Vintage - Haley is wonderful. I have gotten so many things with shoulder pads from her. She always has sales, ships quickly, and is super nice and communicative. Love her 80s items. (https://www.depop.com/detailsvintage/)

  • Key To Fashion - Haven't bought anything here, but have talked to the owner and there are really cute items. (Black owned - https://www.instagram.com/_keytofashion/)

Art Related (for all the art lovers)

  • Curator Socks - They do giveaways and are pretty interactive with followers. I have bought plenty of socks for them. Some of them took a while to get here (I believe they ship from Portugal) but I am assuming it was because of the pandemic. I have Caravaggio socks (these were the 1st I bought), Vermeer, etc. (https://curatorsocks.com)

  • Divi Designs - I love her affordable and beautiful art and her. She's such a sweet person. Support student designers/artists! (https://www.instagram.com/divi.designs/)

  • Schnopp Art - I love Rebecca! I had the pleasure of meeting her on a trip abroad, and she has great prints for sale and she does a lot of cool work. Check out her bananas! (https://rebeccaschnopp.com/shop)

  • Alisandra Vega Art - I finally got a piece from one of my fave abstract artists. She's a recent SCAD grad and she's such a sweet person. (https://www.instagram.com/alisandravega/)

  • Chandler Fletcher Art - She did this piece of my mom and it's stunning and like... I can't even explain how amazing it is. She does great art work. Suppler another student artist! She's really kind and has great communication skills. (https://www.instagram.com/chandlerfletcherpainting/)

There are so many other things I wanted to add to this list, like hairstylist and such. Maybe, next time, I will do another list with other shops that I like. I hope you enjoyed this listicle and that you'll find some shops you love.
