Hello and Happy New Year! I hope that this year is bringing you everything you want and more. We are starting our blogging back up. Don't you just love shopping? I love it and tend to impulsively buy all of the things that I don't need - but that's a story for another day. Though there are plenty of places I love to shop, I want to take a moment to recognize 6 of my favorite black owned businesses.
1. Starmadness - If you're looking for cute bracelets, zodiac sign necklaces, head wraps, or tops about chasing dreams and not boys, then this is a shop you need to visit. My bestie, Jada, does a great job of hand making items that women can enjoy and wear with pride. They're super cute and the prices are very reasonable. My favorite item is my starfish anklet. Follow her on IG @Starmadness & stay tuned for her next project Angels n' Mascara (@angelsnmascara on IG). Website: https://starmadness.com/.
2. Delobeads - Get your custom waist beads, bracelets, anklets, etc. for you, your man, your kid, coworker, grandma, etc. You will not be disappointed in the handcrafted items made with love <3. My fave item by her was my waist beads with aqua beads because I'm a pisces (team pisces). She also writes the best handmade notes and gets orders out quickly. Did I mention she's the sweetest person ever? She's my spirit animal and her positivity brightens my day. Here's her shop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/delobeads?ref=pr2018_faveshops . Also, follow her on IG @delobeads.
3. Humans Before Handles - I met Ashley at a pop up in Ponce and immediately fell in love with her cute earrings. She also makes hair clips/accessories, hats, rings, etc. You will not be disappointed by her ear candy. My favorite pair of earrings is the rainbow ones. They're light and fun to wear. She's also a sweet human being and she's at a lot of pop ups, so check her out. Website: https://www.humansbeforehandles.com/ and IG @humansbeforehandles.
4. CraftydesignsbyAsiah - Asiah makes great custom made graduation stoles and caps, shirts, cups, balloon displays, and more. Basically, you name it and she can add some flavor to it and customize it for you. I have ordered a couple of custom shirt from her, and I was NOT disappointed. She works with you on your order and always makes sure that the product is to your liking. She's really kind and professional. Here's her Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/craftydesignsbyasiah?ref=search_shop_redirect and her IG is @craftydesignsbyasiah.
5. GenGap - Can't do a BOB post without hyping myself and my grandmother up. We went off the grid for a bit, but we're trying to revamp our little business. We make custom jewelry pieces - necklaces, earrings, and bracelets - for women of all ages. We are bridging the generational gap between beauty and making jewelry anyone can wear. If you're interested in getting something made, or buying something already made, please message us on Instagram @thegengap_ (website in the works).
6. The Sacred Events - If you're looking for event planning, please head over to The Sacred Events. My friend, Justus, knows how to plan events the right way. Whether it's a corporate event or something like a birthday party, you won't be disappointed. She will help bring your vision to life. Set up your consultation today! Here's her website: https://thesacredevents.co/services and her IG: @thesacredevents.
Have fun shopping at some of my faves and try not to go overboard! :)
