Meet Ayana Graham, a third year Business Management major at Albany State. She is also the Director of Administrative Affairs for The Joiner Foundation. We love having her on board. She is an asset to the team.
Q: What are your short term goals?
A: I plan to graduate with my B.S in Business Management.
Q: What are your long term goals?
A: My long term goals are to continue expanding my business in financial services, start a nonprofit for mentoring, tutoring, and volunteerism, and to open up a boutique for beauty purposes. Q: What are some of your favorite pastimes?
A: I love makeup, reading, drawing & painting. Q: What is your favorite thing about college? Least favorite?
A: My favorite thing about college is it builds character and it helps you get better with skills you need in life. For example, being organized, self-taught, and learning how to NOT procrastinate. Also, the possibilities are endless in college. There are so many productive things you can get involved with, which can also help with networking. My least favorite thing about college is I don’t eat as often as I should/am used to. Q: What are your plans after college?
A: After college I will be focused on getting all of my licenses so I can run my business on my own. Referring back to an earlier question, I also want to open up a boutique for beauty purposes and start a nonprofit for mentoring, tutoring, and volunteerism. Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “Big Shots are only Little Shots who keep shooting” Little Shots keep on shooting each and every day in their quest to achieve their objective. This continued shooting creates Velocity, and the more Velocity you throw at a situation the more Momentum you create. Ask any Big Shot how they got to their position and most will tell you they simply never gave up. While they may not verbalize it the same way, they knew they had to advance everyday and they kept shooting every day. Q: What advice would you give a high schooler?
A: Remember that everyone you meet does not have your best interest in mind or heart. People will try to pressure you to go out when you might have work to do. Always remember that your education comes first. Q: What is your favorite subject?
A: My favorite subject would be History, right now I’m taking African Diaspora. I love learning about the history of African Americans. Q: What is one thing you've learned from being in college?
A: I learned that everyone is not meant to be apart of my success story, it’s okay to outgrow people who seem to drag you down. I also learned to be more productive. Q: What is one of your greatest accomplishment?
A: Honestly everything I am apart of is my greatest accomplishment. The Joiner Foundation, Inc., Girls of Grace Foundation, Inc., Collegiate Women of Empowerment, and the NAACP all stand for what I stand for. Everything I am apart of is a passion of mine.
