Then this is the perfect blog for you. Have you ever been walking around campus hungry, but you couldn't stop for food because your schedule was full? Me too. One of my biggest college struggles has been figuring out how to keep from being hungry throughout the day.
However, I have found the solution (although I'm sure I am not the one who has discovered it). I have begun to prepare snacks for myself each morning to take with me to class. It takes me a bit more time, but it is always worth it because I am not as hungry throughout the day anymore. I pack different items, such as crackers, fruit, fruit bars, rice bars, etc. I try to eat organic snacks just to be on the healthy side.
Another thing to do is to carry lunch around with you so that you may eat lunch whenever you get hungry. Eat breakfast or some snacks in the morning to keep you from being hungry in between that time. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Lastly, I would recommend meal prepping. This is both related and unrelated to snacking. Meal prepping will save you money and time during the week. I tried meal prepping on Sunday's, but I didn't stuck to it (even though it was very helpful). I encourage meal prepping and have heard others speak positively about it. Meal prepping snacks would also save you time in the morning if you're like me and don't like to get out of bed and take a long time to get dressed.
On another (similar) note, I went to a symposium back in February and the topic was food insecurity. Food insecurity is the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food (lexico.com). If you or someone you know is food insecure, please check with your campuses to see resources that they offer. On our campus, we have a kitchen for students who may need food but don't have the funds to get them. If you don't have one on campus, this may be a great time to start rallying for change. It can be extremely beneficial to those who don't have the financial means to get food.
