The holidays are around the corner. I know it's so special to give someone a nice gift, but money may be paltry when you're a college student. Don't worry, TJF's got you covered!
Something Written - If the person you're seeking a gift for is anything like me, words melt their heart. Try doing a "reasons I love you" jar. Get a mason jar, cute paper, and some decorations like glitter or paint. Decorate the jar. Write reasons you love that person on slips of paper and fill the mason jar with it. Other written projects include: writing the person a poem or song, writing them a nice letter on a card, etc.
Gift card - These can get pricey, but there are some $5 or $10 gift cards as well. This is a nice gift for someone who may like shopping or eating somewhere specific.
Something artsy - If you're an artist or creative, make someone a drawing, painting, etc. I love art. I buy it from my friends all of the time. Getting a nice piece of artwork would brighten my day. There are people who make shirts, mugs, and all types of creative things. I'm sure that any of this would make someone's day.
Mugs, Socks, etc. - Cute socks and mugs are always a mood. Hotsox has great socks. Find some that remind you of that person and go for it. I'm sure they'll love it.
Books - If the person you're thinking about is an avid reader, consider getting them a good book! New books are coming out all of the time and there are plenty of places to get cheaper books, like Half Priced Books, Amazon (some of the used books), local thrift or bookstores, etc.
Candles - You can get candles from almost anywhere, and they tend to have so many different styles.
Photos - Frame a nice photo for a keepsake. This is so heartfelt and, in a world where technology is the hot thing, it's so nice to have some physical images.
Jewelry - Handmade or bought from a store. Some jewelry can be expensive, but not all. Plus, with the holiday season around the corner, some places tend to put things on sale. Keep your eye out. If you want to make something by hand, YouTube is your bestie.
Something baked with love - What's better than something baked that you put your whole heart into? Nothing. Bake a pie, pumpkin bread, or some festive cupcakes. They'll love you for it and think of you as they eat.
Their favorite treats/candy - Fill a jar with some candy or get a basket and load it with some of their favorite treats. Make it festive by adding a candy cane or two. You know what they say about a spoon full of sugar, and we could all use some treats to get us through the rest of this pandemic.
At the end of the day, give a gift from the heart. You know what this person likes and they're going to appreciate the fact that you thought about them. After all, it's the thought that counts. Sending hugs. Happy holiday shopping.
